MGM Esports and Gaming is happy to announce the next tournament hosted at MGMWERX and sponsored by TechMGM and AFCEA! We’re holding this 3v3 Rocket League tournament due to popular demand and as a friendly tournament for High Schools involved in the PlayVS esports platform to compete against other skilled players and to encourage more schools to consider starting an esports team at their school. As schools prepare for the Alabama PlayVS playoffs in January this is a great opportunity to get in some practice. The competition is open to students, civilians, military, everyone!

The tournament will be played on PCs and players will be allowed to use either mouse/keyboard, Playstation controller, or Xbox controller for the event; though if a player is bringing a controller to use, it will need to be wired in conjunction with Rocket Leagues’ official comp REL ruleset. The PCs, monitors, and keyboard/mice will be provided for the tournament.

If a player wishes to do so, they can bring their own keyboard/mice and will need to provide their own Playstation/Xbox controllers, as well as a headset if they wish (if bringing a headset, please let us know so we can prepare for any software needed for certain headsets to work properly).

Registration is $10 per person or $30 per team unless you sign up early and get our early-bird registration discount! Like our previous tournaments, we will not require any cost up front via Eventbrite for single registrants until we can guarantee you a full team of teammates. This way if there is an insufficient amount of people to form a team of free agents, we will be able to avoid any issues with refunds or communication. Upon being notified of you being assigned to a team, you will then have to bring your registration amount with you to the tournament and enjoy the rest!

The Top 3 teams take home a combined prize and 1st place walks away with the trophy!

Personnel from PlayVS and AHSAA will be onsite to provide information about starting an esports team at your high school. Coaches, teachers, administrators and students are all welcome to stop by to learn more about the programs, games played and especially to watch and check out the action!
